About me & my art"I like to express the poignancy of milestone events and inspirational moments, whether spontaneous or anchored in ritual. I believe that when we treat ourselves, our ecosystem, and others in our lives with care and respect, we contribute to the healing of our planet. My art is a way I contribute to this healing. I invite others to enter enter into a dialogue with my work and spur their desire to clarify their own meaning of life. Nature is my constant source of wonder and appreciation, beauty and hope. I use different media in my artwork. I like drawing with graphite and use other drawing materials for life drawing and printmaking. I appreciate oil paint because with it I learned the dynamics of color, shape and design in still life, landscape and portraits. Later I focused on pastel painting, especially for portraits and landscapes. Watercolor and water media expanded my horizons into conceptual art still using realistic subjects. Sometimes I like to mix media but often I prefer using a dominant medium in my work."

Working on a new painting"My latest foray into technique has been the laborious and various techniques of printmaking. This has increased my attention to the importance of value in any work of art. To me, art is a life long learning experience, both in technique and self -realization. Using different media and tools allows me to express myself in a way that feels right for my ideas. Sometimes, I just like to play with whatever is available to me in the moment.”
