I came into the world of Art at a late stage in my life.
After moving to Dallas, Texas in January of 2000, I decided that in order to
get out of the house and meet people, I would take a few classes at the
local recreation center. I very quickly learned that in order to do
oil and watercolor, I would need to be able to draw first… and that was the
beginning. I took courses at the local community college and quickly
decided that I love painting and drawing. It is a decision I have not
regretted and something that I have come to love dearly.
I am particularly drawn to painting water and wildlife.
Water can be displayed as very calm and serene or in an intense and extreme
manner. Animals are the same as they exhibit many similar qualities.
This is what I like to present to people through my art. It excites me
when I see people looking at my work and exhibiting the same emotions I felt
when I was painting the subject.
From the beginning of my artistic endeavors, I have
worked in various mediums, beginning first in oil, moving to watercolor,
pastels, pen and ink and collage. Most recently, I have begun to
experiment with colored pencils.
